How do I get to heaven?

Is there something else in this life? Does God really love me? What is salvation? Am I saved? Am I going to heaven? These questions and so many more can run through our minds every day.

If you’ve ever known that there has to be something greater in this life than just merely existing, then you’re close to the answer. The answer you’re looking for is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. It is only through faith in Him and His works on the cross that we can have abundant, meaninful life.  In the following scriptures you will find God’s plan of salvation presented in His Word.  Carefully read over each verse with an open heart and an open mind and be receptive to what God is calling you to do.

All Have Sinned - Romans 3:23  For all have sinned, and come short of the Glory of God.”
Sin and its curse came into this world through the disobedient acts of first man and woman on earth. Ever since then, sin has been a regular part of humanity. As the apostle Paul states in the book of Romans, there is no one who can escape it.

Penalty For Sin - Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Sin’s influence in each of our lives distances us from God. As a result, every person who does not believe in Jesus Christ’s sacrifice will face eternal spiritual and physical death. To the contrary, repentance, or turning away from sin, and belief in the gift of God’s grace through Christ’s sacrifice on the cross will result in eternal life with Him in Heaven.

Love of God For Sinners - Romans 5:8 But God commendeth His love toward us in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
Despite our sin and despite all that we have done, God still loves each of us and desires to have a close, personal relationship.  There is no greater feeling than the love and watchful compassion of our heavenly Father.

Believe and Confess - Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
It often seems so easy to dismiss the simplicity of this formula, but in reality, God only wants your belief and dedication to Him. His gift does not come as a result of leading a “good life” or by good deeds; otherwise it wouldn’t be called a gift. This gift is offered only in return for your repentance and belief in His Son Jesus—belief that He died for your sins because He loves you. The Bible says that if we call upon the name of the Lord, then we will be saved.  Why wait?

If you will do what God has asked in these scriptures and invite Jesus to come into your heart by admitting you are a sinner and turning away from your sins, by believing in His Son Jesus Christ, and by confessing this to others, you can be saved and know that you will spend an eternity in Heaven.  If you have prayed this prayer or would like to discuss salvation more, please contact us by phone or email.
