Being forgiven changes everything Pt. 6
What does it truly mean to know the truth? There is a sobering distinction drawn in Hebrews chapter 10 between having a head knowledge of the gospel and having a heart that has been genuinely transformed by it. This message walks us through one of the most urgent questions we can ask ourselves: are we truly saved, or are we simply going through the motions? The passage makes clear that rejecting Jesus Christ after being exposed to the truth carries consequences far greater than anything faced under the Old Testament law. Three powerful witnesses stand against those who turn away: the trampling of the Son of God, the dismissal of the blood of the covenant, and the insulting of the Spirit of grace. Each of these represents a layer of divine love that has been extended to us and refused. The relevance to our own faith journey could not be more direct. We live in a time when it is easy to confuse church attendance, baptism, or a prayer recited years ago with genuine salvation. This message calls us to examine whether our lives bear the marks of an inward transformation, not because our works save us, but because a changed heart naturally produces a changed life. The confidence of our salvation is not meant to be a source of endless doubt, but a settled assurance rooted in what Christ has done, not what we have done.
