Who will you be?
This powerful message takes us deep into 2 Kings 15 and Isaiah 55, exploring what it means to respond to God's invitation even when everything around us seems broken. We encounter King Jotham, a young man who watched his father Uzziah experience both blessing and divine correction, yet chose to love God anyway. This teaches us something profound: the character of our hearts is revealed not by our circumstances, but by our actions in response to them. Jotham didn't become bitter when he saw his father struck with leprosy for overstepping God's boundaries. Instead, he prepared his ways before the Lord and became mighty because of it. The Hebrew word for 'prepared' means to build upon, to establish, to focus—and that's exactly what we're called to do. We learn that God blesses and works in those who seek Him, not those who simply want blessings without relationship. The invitation from Isaiah 55 still stands today: come to the waters, seek the Lord while He may be found, and experience His abundant pardon. This isn't about perfect performance but about genuine pursuit. When we build our lives upon God's Word, establish our hearts in obedience, and focus on what He wants, we position ourselves to experience His mighty work in ways that impact not just us, but generations to come.
