Enjoying the blessings of God Pt. 2

Nov 30, 2025    Pastor Jacob Gray

This powerful exploration of 2 Kings 6 reveals a profound truth about the nature of God's relationship with His people: He is constantly leading, guiding, and directing us for our good, even when we can't see the full picture. The story of Elisha and the Syrian army confronts us with a stunning reality—that spiritual battles rage around us constantly, and God's angelic armies are actively ministering on our behalf. When Elisha's servant panicked at the sight of enemy forces surrounding them, the prophet prayed for his eyes to be opened, revealing mountains full of horses and chariots of fire. This reminds us that what we see with our physical eyes is only a fraction of the reality God orchestrates behind the scenes. The message challenges our tendency toward fear, doubt, and unbelief, asking us to consider: if God was willing to lead His people in the Old Testament through miraculous provision and protection, why would He not do the same for us today? The sermon connects this to the Holy Spirit's role in our lives—guiding us into all truth—and confronts the uncomfortable reality that when we're not experiencing God's leading, the problem isn't with God but with our willingness to listen and obey. Perhaps most convicting is the reminder that seasons of affliction often come not as punishment, but as teaching moments, opportunities for God to mold us into vessels He can use to comfort others who will face similar trials.
